India and KKR star Rinku Singh is in legal trouble after a police complaint was filed against him on Monday (January 19). The complaint was made after one of Rinku's Facebook posts, an AI-generated video, went viral and sparked a huge controversy. The case has been filed in Aligarh at the Sasni Gate police station.

The video features Rinku Singh hitting a six and then has AI-generated images of Hindu Gods who are seen driving away in a car while wearing glasses. While such videos are common on the internet these days, Rinku's video unfortunately got immense reach, triggering strong reactions from the Karni Sena district Sumit Tomar who termed Rinku as a 'Jihadi'.

"Making our deities wear glasses and dance to English songs will not be tolerated," said Tomar.

"Rinku Singh should publicly apologize to Sanatan Dharma."

Meanwhile, preliminary investigations are on regarding the authenticity of the video and where it originated from. The intentions from Rinku were arguably to show that God's blessings had given him immense success. However, the whole idea backfired dramatically.

In fact, the video had texts like 'Who brought you success?' followed by 'God brought you success'. However, the modern depiction of Gods along with an English song hasn't gone down with the conservative religious leaders who allege that public sentiments have been hurt with this video.

Rinku is currently part of India's T20I squad for the upcoming series against New Zealand. He is also part of the T20 World Cup 2026 squad.
