Former Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan is reportedly preparing to marry his long-time Irish girlfriend Sophie Shine.
Sources have revealed that the wedding will take place in the third week of February in Delhi-NCR.
Big names from both cricket and Bollywood are likely to be in attendance.
The couple has already started their wedding preparation, with most of the details being kept private.
“It’s a new beginning, and they are treating it with quiet happiness and a lot of gratitude,” the source said. They also said that the Shikar has been “personally involved in the planning.”
Who is Sophie Shine?
Sophie Shine was born in 1990 and is an Irish national. She has a degree in marketing and Management from Limerick Institute of Technology. She graduated from Castleroy College in Ireland and the served as the second vice president of northern Trust Corporation, a US-based financial services firm in Abu Dhabi, until March 2025.
She is currently the Chief Operating Officer of Shikhar Dhawan Foundation, the Philanthropy arm of his conglomerate Da One Sports.
The couple announced their relationship in June last year. They had met at a Dubai restaurant, and their friendship turned into a relationship.
The two have been living together for over a year. They appeared for the first time in public during the 2024 IPL season during the Punjab Singh games. She was also seen with him during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
Dhawan was previously married to Australia-based Ayesha Mukherjee, with whom he has a son who is now 11 years old.
