Satadru Dutta is a renowned name in event management. When he promised to bring Lionel Messi for the GOAT Tour India event across four cities, people expected another seamless experience in all the cities. Unfortunately, Dutta's own den, Kolkata, became a stumbling block for the event which had to be cut short due to crowd mismanagement and security lapses.

Such was the chaos that Messi, who was scheduled to be at the Salt Lake Stadium for two hours, left inside 30 minutes. The frustrated spectators who had gathered after paying exorbitant prices were understandably frustrated and angry. The mishap saw massive political consequences with sports minister Aroop Biswas resigning amidst the disaster.

Dutta was arrested on December 13 itself, the day of the Kolkata event, and has since been facing detailed investigation from a special committee designed to get to the truth behind the mishap. Dutta reveals that Messi left Salt Lake Stadium early because of 'touchy behaviour' by the people who had trespassed into the ground.

A large number of VIP entries were seen as privileged people ranging from politicians and other celebrities used their influence to get within close proximity of Messi. However, this only increased the crowd levels and Messi was constantly getting touched, and even hugged, according to Dutta who made these revelations to the investigation team.

"Despite repeated public announcements to restrain the crowd, there was no impact. The manner in which Messi was surrounded and embraced was completely unacceptable to the World Cup-winning footballer," Dutta was quoted to have said, according to The Telegraph.

In contrast, the events in Hyderabad, Mumbai and Delhi were conducted smoothly without any disruptions.
