Manchester United are confident they can sign Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig once a transfer fee is agreed upon. The club's decision-makers are certain the 22-year-old Slovenian striker wants to move to Old Trafford and will not consider an offer from Newcastle United.
With the transfer sagas for Alexander Isak, Viktor Gyokeres, and Hugo Ekitike almost settled, Sesko has become a top target for many clubs. Having missed out on Gyokeres, Manchester United, led by manager Ruben Amorim, are reportedly going all in for him despite stiff competition from Newcastle. Reports indicate that although RB Leipzig has received an improved bid from Newcastle, Sesko is prepared to wait for United's counter-offer.
Benjamin Sesko market value
According to reports, Newcastle submitted a second improved bid of £69.7 million (€80 million) plus add-ons for the forward after an initial offer of £65–66 million was rejected. Noted journalist Fabrizio Romano stated that this second bid from St James' Park is €5 million more than United's current offer. Experts, fans, and Sesko's camp are reportedly certain that the Red Devils will soon make an improved bid, as a quality striker is central to the ongoing squad overhaul.
"Understand Manchester United’s feeling from earlier today is even stronger tonight… …the club believes Benjamin Šeško only wants to join Manchester United. Man United forwarded official contract proposal to Šeško while also keep negotiating with RB Leipzig," Romano said on X.

Sesko wants to join Manchester United this summer and is confident they can strike a deal with his current team. He was a key player for RB Leipzig in the 2024/25 Bundesliga season, scoring 13 goals and providing 5 assists in 31 games. Across all competitions, he has scored 39 goals and made eight assists in 87 appearances.
United reportedly want to use him alongside Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbuemo, who arrived from Wolverhampton and Brentford, respectively. The Bruno Fernandes-led team had their worst-ever Premier League campaign in the 2024-25 season, finishing 15th in the standings, and are looking to regroup stronger next season with some sensible spendings in the transfer window.
