According to the latest summer transfer rumours, Girona's Miguel Gutierrez, a product of the Real Madrid academy, has attracted the interest of Manchester United. Spanish left-back Gutierrez, who is an integral part of Girona's wonderrun in La Liga, joined the Catalan side in 2022. Manchester United have been tracking the left-back for some time now and is likely to make a bid this summer, Goal.com  said in a report on Sunday quoting Spanish media sources.

In another report, The Sun claimed that Jose Mourinho was also interesting in bringing him to Old Trafford in 2017. Gutierrez was just 16 when "The Special One" showed interest in him but he decided to remain at the Spanish capital.

However, things are not simple for the Red Devils as Real Madrid has a €8 million buy-back option in Gutierrez's contract. Carlo Ancelotti's team is expected to exercise it next season as they consider the 22-year-old a backup to Alphonso Davies of Bayern Munich, the report added.

Canadian Davies remains the priority target for Los Blancos once the transfer window opens. Meanwhile, Manchester United is expected to face competition from other English clubs to get the signature of Gutierrez, whose current contract with Girona runs out in 2027.
