Blasters could face heavy sanctions from league authorities

Bengaluru FC entered the semifinals of the ISL amid high drama after Kerala Blasters walked off the field while trailing 0-1 in the first half of extra time in the first knockout match here on Friday.

Blasters coach Ivan Vukomanovic took his players off the field protesting Sunil Chhetri's goal in the first half of extra time. The Blasters players were just getting ready to face the free-kick when Chhetri slammed the ball into the net.

Chhetri chipped the ball over the KBFC players and into the goal leading Kerala Blasters coach Vukomanovic to ask his players to leave the pitch. The players were also seen arguing with the match officials before they were led out of the field and into the dugout by their manager, Sportstar reported.

After waiting for the 30 minutes of extra time to end, the match officials, in consultation with ISL authorities, blew the full-time whistle, declaring BFC as the winner, Sportstar reported.
