Confirmed! Sergio Aguero to join Barcelona

The 32-year-old striker has been with Manchester City for 10 years

Barcelona, today, confirmed that Argentine striker Sergio Aguero will join the club on a free transfer from Premier League champions Manchester City on July 1.

Aguero will sign a two-year contract, until the end of the 2022-23 season. His buyout clause is set at 100 million euros, Barca said in an official statement.

The 32-year-old striker has been with Manchester City for 10 years, and leaves the club as its all-time record goalscorer, with 260 goals to his credit. He is also the leading goalscorer for any single Premier League club with 184 goals. He also holds the record of most hat-tricks scored in the Premier League – 12.

Aguero won 12 major trophies with City over the past decade - five Premier League titles, the FA Cup and six League Cups.

Aguero will now team up with Argentina international teammate Lionel Messi at the Camp Nou. It will be his second stint in La Liga, having played for Atletico Madrid between 2006 and 2011, scoring 74 goals in 175 appearances.
