India humbled Pakistan by 60 runs in the Asian Cricket Council Under-19s Asia Cup at Moratuwa in Sri Lanka, today. Chasing 306 to win, Pakistan were bowled out for 245 in 46.4 overs. Captain Rohail Nazir was the top-scorer for Pakistan, scoring a 108-ball 117.

For the Indians, Atharva Ankolekar was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3/36 in his 10 overs. Vidyadhar Patil and Sushant Mishra chipped in with two wickets apiece.

Pakistan did not have the best of starts, being reduced to 53/3 by the 11th over. But Haris Khan (43) and Nazir put on 120 runs together to raise hopes of a successful chase. But once the skipper was trapped leg-before by seamer Akash Singh at the start of 41st over, the Pakistani challenge ended.

Earlier, India won the toss and elected to bat first. Opener Arjun Azad (121) and N.T. Tilak Verma (110) scored hundreds as India posted a challenging 305/9 in 50 overs, riding on the 183-run second wicket stand between the duo.

Arjun hit 11 fours and four sixes while Tilak scored 10 boundaries and a six.

None of the other India batsmen could surpass the individual score of 20 as Pakistan seamers Naseem Shah (3/52) and Abbas Afridi (3/72) were taken to task despite returning with three wickets apiece.

The India U-19 side had won their first game comfortably, against Kuwait. Pakistan, however, had a bad start, being bowled out for 78 while chasing 163 to win against Afghanistan.
