Centurions Tilak Varma and Arjun Azad saw India amassing a formidable score of 305 against Pakistan in the U-19 Asia Cup at the Tyronne Fernando Stadium in Sri Lanka's Moratuwa. While 16-year-old Varma scored 110 from 119 balls before being caught out, 18-year-old Azad pulled out an attacking performance with his score of 121 from just 111 balls.

However, barring the centurion performances by Varma and Azad, the rest of the team crumbled down in front of the Pakistan pace attack on Saturday. From 285-4, the Indian score board was reduced to 288-8 as wickets fell in quick succession. For Pakistan, bowlers Naseem Shah and Abbas Afridi scalped three wickets each.

This was the fifth match in the Group A stage. India’s U19 side had won their first game comfortably, as they cruised to victory against Kuwait U19. Pakistan, however, is facing India after having a poor start as they met with a 85-run defeat to Afghanistan in their opening game. Pakistan were bowled out on 78 while chasing 163 to win.
