The BCCI has withheld cricketer Mohammed Shami's contract after allegations from his wife that the cricketer indulged in domestic violence and adultery. The Committee of Administrators (CoA) had announced new contracts for all players on Wednesday.

Hasin Jahan, wife of Indian bowler Mohammed Shami, had alleged that the cricketer is having an affair. She also claimed that she was abused by Shami, and his family tried to kill her.

Jahan posted screenshot of messages on her Facebook wall that have been removed now. The screenshots were posted in a bid to publicly expose Shami's extra-marital affair.

The post, which was uploaded from an unverified account, was titled 'Shami's enjoyment' and had screenshots of the cricketer's messages to many women. Shami's pictures with some of these were also uploaded. The account has been deactivated now.

Jahan and Shami got married in 2014. They have a daughter together.

Shami took to Twitter to post his clarification on the matter.

“All the news going around about my personal life are absolute lies, this is a big conspiracy against me and this is being done to ruin me and my game.”
