Bengaluru-based company Bolt.Earth launched a universal DC fast charger for electric two wheelers and three wheelers—one of the first of its kind.
The Blaze DC chargers, launched in the IT city today, aim to address challenges such as a lack of high speed with inter-operable charging solutions for two and three wheelers in the country.
Representatives of Bolt.Earth claim that the Blaze DC chargers are universal, compact and grid-friendly. These support Type 6 and LECCS Type 7 connectors to ensure compatibility with major EV brands such as Ather, Ola, Hero MotoCorp, Matter Motors and Simple Energy. The company aims to deploy 25,000 chargers across the country by 2026.
The company also claims that the Blaze charger will be capable of fast charging—making it possible to charge up to 120km in 15 minutes (on 12kW vehicles).

Anyone who currently drives (or plans to buy) a fast charging-capable two or three-wheeler EV in India can use Blaze DC. The company is aiming to support 90 per cent of fast-charging-enabled two and three-wheelers within a year in the country.
Today, Bolt.Earth has around 37,000 charging points in 1,700+ cities across the country, including Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. These charging points are being used by more than 224,000 active EV users.
Interestingly the EV market in India has witnessed remarkable momentum in recent years, especially in the two-wheeler segment, where over 5 million electric scooters are expected to be sold annually by 2027. However, public charging infrastructure still remains limited and costly. The company wants to change this through the Blaze DC chargers.

“We will soon deploy Blaze DC across major locations, including Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Kerala and Pune. Running a EV vehicle is almost ten times cheaper than the running a petrol vehicle. We also sell through our OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) such as Bajaj, Mahindra etc. We have the complete manufacturing in Bengaluru and also sell our chargers in Thailand and Indonesia. Though our focus will be on the Indian market, we will also look forward to expand in the South East Asian region and emerging economies in the future as well,” Raghav Bharadwaj, CEO of Bolt.Earth, told THE WEEK.
Bharadwaj added that EV charging infrastructure was much more mature in countries such as Norway and China, but India has the potential to reach there in the next four years.

Currently, Bolt.Earth offers end-to-end infrastructure for homes, businesses, fleets and many EV brands from hardware and installation to software and support. The company is also talking to many electricity boards across the country.
The launch was also graced by Shiv Shankara N., Managing Director of the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM): the nodal agency for EV infrastructure in Karnataka.
He said that as a government entity, BESCOM had established over 200 EV charging stations in Bengaluru with 5,200+ chargers statewide.
“While many of our chargers are currently slow, we are keen to upgrade to fast chargers and are looking to collaborate with private players like Bolt. We’re also identifying government land to reserve for future EV infrastructure and inviting private participation,” Shankara said.
