Prime Minister called for the establishment of 'Bharatiya Antariksha Station'

Prime Minister Narendra Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set ambitious targets for the country's future space exploration endeavors. During a recent meeting to review the preparedness of the Gaganyaan mission and the crew escape system test vehicle's first demonstration flight, Prime Minister Modi outlined India's vision for the future of space exploration.

First and foremost, Prime Minister Modi urged scientists to work towards sending the first Indian to the Moon by 2040. This ambitious goal reflects India's growing capabilities and determination to make its mark in space exploration. The prime minister expressed confidence in India's ability to achieve this feat, building upon the success of recent missions such as Chandrayaan-3 and Aditya L1.

Additionally, Prime Minister Modi called for the establishment of an Indian space station, named "Bharatiya Antariksha Station," by 2035. This would mark a significant milestone for the country, allowing India to conduct a wide range of scientific experiments and research in space. The Department of Space has been tasked with developing a roadmap for Moon exploration, which will include a series of Chandrayaan missions, the development of a Next Generation Launch Vehicle (NGLV), and the construction of a new launch pad.

To support these ambitious goals, the Department of Space presented an overview of the Gaganyaan Mission during the meeting. Several technologies, including human-rated launch vehicles and system qualification, have already been developed. Furthermore, around 20 major tests, including three uncrewed missions of the Human Rated Launch Vehicle (HLVM3), are planned to ensure the success of the Gaganyaan mission.

Prime Minister Modi's emphasis on interplanetary missions was also highlighted during the meeting. He encouraged scientists to work towards a Venus Orbiter Mission and a Mars Lander, showcasing India's growing interest in exploring the mysteries of the solar system.

India's commitment to scaling new heights in space exploration was reiterated by Prime Minister Modi, who expressed confidence in the nation's capabilities. With a clear roadmap and ambitious goals in place, India is poised to make significant strides in the field of space science and technology.

As India continues to make its mark in the global space arena, the nation's space program is set to inspire the next generation of scientists and propel India towards a future where space exploration becomes an integral part of its scientific endeavours.
