Trump warns countries supporting Iran of ‘tremendous economic consequences’
The US president has announced an "unprecedented economic warfare" against Tehran
President Donald Trump has declared an "unprecedented economic warfare" against Iran, threatening "tremendous economic consequences" for any nation or entity that provides financial or other support to Tehran. This move, described as the "MOST CRUSHING ECONOMIC OPERATION EVER TAKEN AGAINST ANY COUNTRY!", aims to cripple Iran's economy and its ability to fund global terror. The sanctions will target Iran's economic lifelines, including oil-smuggling networks and financial transfers, with Trump urging US allies to join this "ECONOMIC D-DAY" to further isolate the country.

US President Donald Trump on Wednesday warned that any country providing financial or other support to Iran would face “tremendous economic consequences” as he announced as an "unprecedented economic warfare" against Tehran.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said no one had given Iran a greater opportunity to reach a deal with the United States than his administration, but claimed Tehran had failed to take it.
“Therefore, today, I am announcing the MOST CRUSHING ECONOMIC OPERATION EVER TAKEN AGAINST ANY COUNTRY!” Trump said, describing the move as “Economic Warfare and Isolation on an unprecedented scale.”
Trump claimed that Iran’s navy, air force and military had been decimated, its currency had become worthless and the country was “hanging by a thread.”
"Today, I am also announcing that ANY country that allows its financial institutions, businesses, airports, or government entities to provide any type of lifeline to Iran will itself face TREMENDOUS Economic Consequences," Trump said.
The measures, he said, would target Iran’s economic lifelines, including oil-smuggling networks, financial transfers, exchange houses and front companies.
“You know who you are,” Trump said, calling the campaign an “ECONOMIC D-DAY” and urging US allies to join Washington in isolating Iran.
"These maniacs are on the ropes, and these HISTORIC MEASURES will cripple them and their ability to project terror worldwide," he said.
Earlier, while addressing technology leaders in Washington, Trump said the United States had “very draconian sanctions” available against Iran and suggested that additional measures could soon be announced.
He also said the Strait of Hormuz remained open and described the US naval blockade as “extremely effective.”
“It’ll either be extremely good, and oil prices are going to drop like a rock, or we’ll continue to do exactly what we’re doing,” Trump said.
