Amid high tensions in the Middle East following the Iran war, loud explosions were heard in downtown Dubai. Authorities reported a "minor drone incident" after reports of an explosion.
The Dubai government's media office said in a post on X that the authorities are responding to a minor drone incident in the Al Bada area. "No injuries have been reported," it added.
According to reports, clouds of smoke rose above the residential neighbourhood of Al Bada's, which dissipated shortly after.

Al Bada is just about four kilometres from Burj Khalifa.
The Gulf countries were caught in the middle of the ongoing US-Israel conflict with Iran. As many as 24 people were killed in the region, including 11 civilians.

In Bahrain, an Iranian attack sparked a major fire on Muharraq Island.
In Kuwait, a residential building was struck by an Iranian drone, resulting in two injuries. Meanwhile, the UAE successfully activated its air defences twice to protect Dubai, though a drone impact at Dubai Creek Harbour ignited a blaze in a high-rise tower. Simultaneously, Saudi Arabia intercepted drones over Riyadh’s diplomatic quarter and the Shaybah oil field in the east.
The Kuwait International Airport was reportedly targeted using drones. The development comes a day after two drones struck near the Dubai airport, injuring four people.
