Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) was awarded 'Outstanding PSU of the Year' on Saturday at an All India Management Association (AIMA) event held in New Delhi.
The apex non-profit body for management in India presented the award to the Kerala-based shipbuilder for its "exemplary performance, innovation, and leadership role in strengthening India’s Shipbuilding and Maritime ecosystem", CSL said in an X post.

The award was presented by Union Minister for Education, Dharmendra Pradhan, and was received by Dr Harikrishnan S., Director (Operations), on behalf of CSL.
Constituted in 2010, the AIMA Managing India Awards aims to recognise and certify exemplary management across various fields, including those like cinema, art, hospitality, and maritime.
This major win comes just days after CSL officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with French shipping major CMA CGM on February 18 for the production of six LNG-fuelled vessels of 1,700 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) each.
CSL marked a major milestone with the signing of a contract for construction of six LNG fueled Container Vessels for CMA CGM, one of the largest container shipping companies in the world.

The landmark deal for the feeder container vessels, valued at about Rs 3,267 crore, will make them the first of their kind to be commissioned from an Indian shipyard by a major company.
Built by CSL, the vessels will also carry the Indian flag, which marks a major achievement for India's maritime sector and reflects the scope of its global engagement. This comes after the two firms signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) back on October 15, 2025.
Since all six vessels will run on LNG, they are also said to be a major push for India's maritime sustainability goals, in line with its larger goals under Aatmanirbhar India and the Maritime India Amrit Kaal Vision 2047.
