The Indian Army is now accepting applications for admission to the 63rd Short Service Commission (Tech) Course and 34th Short Service Commission (Tech) Women Course. This course is set to commence in October 2024 and offers 350 vacancies for men and 31 vacancies for women. Interested applicants, who must be single, are encouraged to apply online before the deadline on February 21.

Eligibility requirements include a degree in Engineering in related disciplines. Final year students can also apply, subject to conditions. For detailed information about eligible engineering streams, please refer to the official website.

Physical fitness is a crucial qualification, and applicants must meet the criteria outlined on the army's website. The age range for applicants is between 20 and 27 as of October 1, 2024.

The selected candidates will undergo a rigorous 49-week training at the Officers Training Academy in Chennai. Upon successful completion of the training, candidates will be eligible for a PG Diploma in Defense Management and Strategic Studies from the University of Madras. The appointment will be in the rank of Lieutenant.

The selection process for this course involves an SSB Interview and Medical Test. Group tests and psychological tests will be conducted at various centers.

Additionally, there are two vacancies available for widows of Defense Force Officers, both in the Tech and Non-Tech fields. For the Tech entry, candidates must possess a BE/BTech degree in any engineering discipline, while for the Non-Tech entry, any degree is eligible.

The deadline for applications is February 21.
