Uttar Pradesh pre-poll surveys: BSP chief Mayawati fumes at 'fake, casteist propaganda push'
Casteist media has always propagated falsehoods and baseless narratives against the BSP, the former UP chief minister said.
In a series of social media posts, she accused casteist sections of the media of conspiring to portray the BSP as a non-contender while urging her supporters to focus on robust ground-level preparations. Recalling her party's unexpected victory in 2007, Mayawati called on voters to remain vigilant against rival tactics and support the BSP to defeat both the BJP and the Samajwadi Party.

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) national president and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati has criticised election surveys and media assessments, labelling such surveys as sponsored and aired with malicious intent.
In a series of posts on social media, the BSP supremo described various election surveys as “fake, sponsored, and misleading”. Such surveys were part of a misinformation and propaganda campaign, alongside the use of inducements, coercion, and other underhanded methods, she claimed.
At a time when the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls are seen as a two-way contest between the NDA and the Samajwadi Party-led Opposition alliance, Mayawati claimed that casteist sections of the media and social media had already begun spreading false and distracting surveys as part of a conspiracy. They were targeting her party by trying to portray the BSP as a non-contender.
The BSP chief said that her camp was engaged in intensive ground-level preparations, including the selection of strong and capable candidates for the upcoming Assembly elections not only in Uttar Pradesh, but also in Uttarakhand and Punjab.
Mayawati asked her party workers to have faith in their election machinery and continue their hard work. She further appealed to the "dissatisfied" people of Uttar Pradesh to remain vigilant against the tactics employed by the BSP's rival parties as well as casteist elements.
"Even in 2007, their behavior was similarly casteist and spiteful, even as the B.S.P., defying all speculations and expectations, formed its government with a full majority, and subsequently, in U.P., a new constitutional era of welfare began with the establishment of "rule of law by law" to ensure justice for all, along with "for the welfare of all and happiness of all"," she wrote.
The veteran leader requested the backing of people across all communities to ensure the defeat of the incumbent BJP as well as the Samajwadi Party.
Recently, according to the News18 UP Mega Survey conducted jointly with Pvalue Analytics, the BJP is well ahead of the INDIA bloc, and voters reportedly back Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for a third term in the state.

Another pre-poll survey released by News Leader and Matrize, covering 403 Assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh, has forecast that the BJP-led alliance is likely to return to power with 267 seats. The Samajwadi Party-led alliance is expected to win 132 seats, while the BSP and others may win two seats each.

Mayawati's X post in full:
1. In the context of the upcoming Assembly General Elections in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Punjab, amidst intensive grassroots preparations including the selection of strong and robust candidates for the party, a malicious campaign of fake and diversionary surveys/polls has already been initiated here by casteist media/social media, under a conspiracy leveraging the misuse of financial power, and it is extremely distressing and unfortunate that the Bahujan Samaj Party (B.S.P.) is naturally being targeted in this.
2. In any case, it is also noteworthy here as a bitter reality that during elections, casteist media has always propagated falsehoods and baseless narratives against the B.S.P., and in fake and sponsored surveys/polls, it has consistently been assessed as weaker and diminished. Even in 2007, their behavior was similarly casteist and spiteful, even as the B.S.P., defying all speculations and expectations, formed its government with a full majority, and subsequently, in U.P., a new constitutional era of welfare began with the establishment of "rule of law by law" to ensure justice for all, along with "for the welfare of all and happiness of all."
3. Therefore, this appeal is to the entire society weary of first SP rule and now BJP rule in U.P., and especially to the people of the "Bahujan Samaj," that they must remain vigilant against all tactics of the opposition parties and casteist elements—such as sam, dam, dand, bhed—and all kinds of false and malicious propaganda, and continue to devote themselves wholeheartedly and relentlessly to forming the B.S.P. government for the fifth time under the leadership of their honorable Behanji, in which lies the welfare and security of all.
