"PM Modi is behaving like a leader nearing his downfall. He is afraid of the opposition's protests," Venugopal alleged.

TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee said she will stay in Delhi to join the INDIA bloc protest on Monday. Mamata was among four former chief ministers who were detained by Delhi Police on Saturday amid widespread crackdown in the national capital.

Others were former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, former Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan and former Tripura CM Manik Sarkar. CPI(M) General Secretary M.A. Baby, senior Left leader Brinda Karat, CPI(ML) Liberation General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya,   All India Students' Association (AISA) president Neha Bora, activist Yogendra Yadav, lawyer Prashant Bhushan.

YouTuber Dhruv Rathee, who backs CJP, was detained from his Delhi residence, while CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, spokespersons Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka were nabbed when they arrived at Delhi airport.
