The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has announced a 'Chappal Protest' for women's safety in Bengaluru on October 8th at Freedom Park, with actor Prakash Raj expected to join. The Cockroach Janta Party had announced that it would hold a Chappal Protest in Bengaluru on Thursday, October 8, at Freedom Park.

CJP co-convenor Ashutosh Ranka announced in a social media post: "Thursday will be a very eventful day for Bengaluru. The event will begin at 10:30 a.m. at Freedom Park."

The CJP will also hold a 'People's Tribunal' (Jan-Adalat) on the 'Special Intensive Revision' (SIR) of the voter list before this protest.

This Thursday, October 8, we will attend the People's Tribunal organised at SIR and interact with Kannadigas whose names have been wrongly removed from the voters' list.' Ranka added.

The people’s tribunal is being organised by civil society groups from across Karnataka to raise concerns over the SIR exercise.

"Following this, a 'chappal protest' will be held in support of women. We hope you all will join in large numbers."

The protest will be attended by CJP founder Abhijit Dipke, Spokespersons Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, along with actor Prakash Raj and other Youth representatives.

Prakash Raj shared a post on X showing support for the protest efforts, saying, "A 'People's Tribunal' is being organized by Cockroach, Deepak, Ashutosh, Saurav, and all youth organizations and civil society. It will include SIR victims from across the state."

"I appeal to all citizens to take part in this fight to save our democracy. Join us tomorrow, October 8th, at Freedom Park in Bengaluru," he added.

The CJP and other people organisations are demanding that decisions made during the SIR to remove names from the electoral rilles be cancelled and the the voter list before the SIR be retained.

They are also seeking the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner, Gyanesh Kumar, alleging irregularities in the electoral process.
