Three people, including two women, were arrested by Bengaluru Police after they allegedly kidnapped and assaulted a 30-year-old woman after she failed to repay loan interest on Friday.

The accused Nazrath, Reshma Bhanu and Suhail reportedly confined the victim for two days at a house over the loan dispute and threatened her, saying they would circulate a private video taken after she was forced to strip if she failed to pay, police said.

The victim, who works as domestic help she had borrowed Rs 50,000 from the accused Nazath Begum after agreeing to repay it in weekly instalments of Rs 5000.

She had also borrowed 1 lakh from Reshma Banu around two years prior and was paying monthly interest.

She said that she fell behind on both payments due to financial difficulties.

The victim said that the she was called to Nazath's house at Metro layout on August 27 on the pretext of some work. After some time, Reshma, her husband Suhail and two others entered Nazath’s house and assaulted her with a knife and their hands.

They also damaged her mobile phone and forced her and her young son into an autorickshaw and took them to Kumbalgodu. She said the she was beaten and confined to a room and threatened over the repayment of an alleged Rs 11 lakh, including interest.

The FIR filed on the complaint also stated that the complainant was allegedly forced to partially undress and filmed on a mobile phone. The accused threatened to circulate the video if he failed to pay.

The victim also alleged that she was taken to a lawyer near a market and made to sign certain papers before being taken back.

She alerted the police after asking for time to go to the toilet. She was rescued after the police reached her house and took her to the Chandra Layout Police station.

Police said that efforts are being made to nab the other suspects who have been absconding
