The father of Ketan Agarwal, the Pune businessman who was allegedly murdered by his fiancée, Siya Goyal, said that her family may have also been involved in the conspiracy to murder him.

Vishal Agarwal also demanded the death penalty for the accused.

He stated that he approached the court to obtain a copy of the charge sheet filed in the case. He also demanded a notification be issued to appoint Ujjwal Nikam as the special public prosecutor in the case.

"I have not yet seen the charge sheet. I will comment only after reading it. We have filed an application in court for a copy,” he told reporters.

Agarwal spoke to PTUI, saying that those responsible for the son's murder should be given the death penalty. He also said that he has requested that the government issue Nika’s appointment notification and for the fast track trial.

Agarwal also said that he suspected Siya’s father and mother and her other relatives to be involved in the conspiracy to murder Ketan. He said that he would only be able to comment on the matter after reading the charge sheet.

He referred to reports that stated that Siya was secretly married to Chetan Chaudhary, her co-accused in the murder case.

Agarwal questioned why Siya’s family would proceed with the marriage to Ketan if she was already married to Ketan.

He said the investigation into the murder case was progressing in the right direction.

Agarwal also said that he had previously met with Chief Minster Devendra Fadnavis and demanded that the case be heard in a fast track court.

On Saturday, the Pune police filed a charge sheet running over 5000 pages against accused Siya Goyal, Chetan Chaudhary and his friend Ritesh Hange.

Ketan Agarwal died after being pushed off the Pune Lohagad fort on June 18.
