A 17-year-old from Uttar Pradesh shared a video on Instagram alleging sexual harassment by a Rapido bike taxi driver. Following widespread outrage on social media, the teen shared details clarifying that Rapido has permanently barred the driver from the ride-hailing platform.

In the viral video, the teen is seen sitting on the back seat of a moving bike. The visuals then show the driver reaching out towards the passenger. The teen is seen removing his hand at once.

However, the driver persists and attempts to touch the minor’s thighs. The video was captioned “Minor by the way” and tagged Rapido’s official Instagram page. The teen had also mentioned Rapido’s verified account specifically for drivers, where they generally share stories celebrating their achievements.

According to HT, the teen recalled that the incident occurred in Civil Lines in the Prayagraj neighbourhood in Uttar Pradesh.

Responding to the video, Rapido commented, “Hi Kushh, we are truly concerned to learn about this from you. We take cognisance of this matter with utmost seriousness, and any such conduct is completely unacceptable. To take immediate action, we request that you please share the ride ID and your registered mobile number with us via DM.”

Later on, Rapido updated the message, stating, “We’re genuinely sorry for the experience you’ve had. We understand that situations like this can leave you feeling deeply uncomfortable and upset. As discussed over the call, please know that we have taken this matter seriously and the reported captain has been permanently barred from the platform. Behaviour that compromises a customer’s sense of safety or respect is simply not acceptable to us. We truly value your trust, and we’ll continue to do everything we can to ensure our platform remains a safe and respectful space for everyone. If you need any further support, we’re just a DM away.”

The teen shared an Instagram story confirming that the ride-hailing service has taken action and barred the driver from the platform.
