A woman threw an ink-like liquid at Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke while he was addressing a gathering at the protest site at Jantar Mantar.

The incident caused brief chaos as supporters rushed towards the stage. Dipke took to X to post a video of the incident. ‘Blue is my colour... Jai Bhim,” he wrote.

The identity and the motive of the woman who threw the ink are unknown. The incident came after Dipke announced that he was going on an indefinite hunger strike after social activist Sonam Wangchuk was taken to the hospital by Delhi police on day 21 of his fast. The move was carried out in compliance with the directions of the Delhi High Court and on the advice of medical experts.

Wangchuk has been on an indefinite hunger strike since June 28 in support of the CJP-led protest demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged irregularities in the NEET examination.

Wangchuk had indicated on Friday that he may end his indefinite hunger strike in July if the planned protest arch toward the parliament is a success.

However, sources said on Saturday that Dipke and the CJP are unlikely to get permission for their march to the parliament from the Delhi police.

They said that the CJP may not get permission as the planned date was the same days as the beginning of the Monsoon Session of the parliament.

“Permission for the Parliament march has not yet been sought by the CJP. Even if the CJP were to seek permission for the Parliament march, the police would not grant it due to the Monsoon Session,” the sources said.

Sources also told Ani that the CJP had not approached the Delhi police to seek permission for the march.

Delhi police enforces a prohibitory order under section 163 of the BNS when the parliament is in session. The order bans gatherings of four or more people, unauthorised rallies and carrying weapons.
