The Delhi High Court has ordered the unblocking of the Cockroach Janta Party's (CJP) X account, a decision to which the Central government, represented by Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, raised no objection, citing that the account was blocked due to national security concerns flagged by the Intelligence Bureau to prevent potential disruption during the NEET examination. With the examination now concluded, the Solicitor General stated that the account could be restored, leading Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma to issue the unblocking order in response to a petition filed by CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, who had challenged the account's suspension after the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) directed X to withhold it under Section 69(A) of the Information Technology Act, 2000.

In a major relief for the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), the Delhi High Court ordered that the X account of the party be lifted. The Centre also raised no objection to the move.

The order by Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma to the petition filed by CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke against the blocking of the account by the Centre. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, who appeared for the Central government, said that the account can be unblocked now that the NEET exam was over.

"It was blocked at a time when the NEET examination was to take place. Lakhs of students were to appear. Several posts (on X) which would have created chaos among students and parents. Now the examination is over," Mehta said.

Following this, Justice Sharma said the account should then be unblocked.

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) asked X to withhold the account under Section 69 (A) of the Information Technology Act, 2000, after receiving reports of “national security concerns” from the Intelligence Bureau (IB).

Following this, Dipke filed a plea before the Delhi High Court. During the hearing held on May 29, the High Court declined to immediately order restoration of the account, stating such relief can only be granted after hearing the government since the issue has far reaching consequences.
