Mumbai rains: Is your bus route closed due to waterlogging? THESE roads are shut by BMC
Metro services are widely used by commuters during the monsoon to avoid traffic congestion caused by waterlogging
Mumbai faced significant disruption on Saturday due to heavy rainfall, prompting the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to close several roads, including the Andheri Subway, in response to widespread waterlogging. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued a red alert for July 4, leading the BMC to declare a holiday for schools and colleges in the afternoon and advise citizens to limit unnecessary travel. Over 100 mm of rainfall was recorded in many areas within 24 hours, causing traffic issues and leading the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) to suspend or divert numerous bus services across the city. Adding to the commuters' difficulties, Mumbai's Metro Line 2A experienced a temporary 90-minute disruption due to a technical glitch between Dahisar East and Kandarpada stations, though services eventually resumed normal operations.

Heavy rains and waterlogging have caused the closure of several Mumbai roads by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Saturday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued a red alert for July 4, and the civic body declared a holiday for the afternoon session in all schools and colleges.
The BMC also appealed to citizens to step out of their homes only if necessary as heavy rains continue to lash several parts of the city. Several parts of Mumbai received more than 100 mm of rainfall during the 24 hours ending at 8:00 am on Saturday, reports said.
In view of waterlogging hampering traffic movement, the BMC has temporarily closed the following roads:
- Noor-e-Ilahi Service Road, Chembur
- Veera Desai Road, Andheri
- Huma Mall Junction, Vikhroli
- Gandhinagar Junction
- Andheri Subway
- Road near Paresh Park Market
- Municipal Market Road
- Swami Vivekananda Marg, Andheri

- Premier Road (Don Bosco–Holy Cross Road): Route 322 diverted via Raju Badekar Marg due to waterlogging (from 10:15 am).
- Pedder Road (Nalanda Bus Stop): Routes 76, 62, 86, 305, 88, 83, 28, 89 and others diverted via Bhulabhai Desai Marg after a tree fell (10:30–11:00 am).
- S.V. Road, Ajit Glass, Jogeshwari: Routes 180, 203, 202, 256, 359, 4, 84 diverted via Behram Baug Road (from 11:45 am).

- Vidyavihar ST Depot: Routes 62, 322, 308, 323 curtailed at Kamani, while Route 613 was temporarily suspended (from 12:30 pm).
A technical glitch briefly affected operations on Mumbai's Metro Line 2A, causing train delays during peak hours and adding to commuters' woes as the city grappled with heavy rainfall on Saturday.
The Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Limited (MMMOCL) confirmed that while services were disrupted for around 90 minutes, technical teams resolved the fault, allowing trains to resume normal operations on both tracks across the entire corridor.
A technical glitch between Dahisar East and Kandarpada metro stations on Line 2A, which runs between Dahisar East and Andheri West, affected operations.
