In a now viral video, a woman is seen crying and pleading with a man to let her go as he is seen trying to forcefully make her convert her religion.
The 24-year-old woman’s husband is currently serving in the Indian Armed Forces and is posted in another city. She has accused three men of drugging, raping and blackmailing her over several months before allegedly forcing her to undergo a religious conversion ceremony in Maharashtra’s Nagpur.
Two men who were involved have been arrested in the case, and the police are on the hunt for a third party involved in the alleged conversion.
The video shows the distressed woman pleading "Chhodo mujhe" ("let me go") while the man, who has now been identified as one of her old classmates, Ayaaz Madare, is seen forcefully holding her and chanting religious verses and blowing on her.
The woman had allegedly claimed that she was declared “converted” afterwards and that an attempt was made to rape her after that.
In the FIR filed, she also alleged that Ayaaz would often bring a plastic bottle filled with some liquid, which she was forced to drink.
He would then mutter something in Urdu and then blow on her face, saying that it was part hypnosis and black magic before he raped her.
The video allegedly shows the ritual, NDTV reported.
The woman is a property dealer. The FIR says that Ayaz served her a spiked drink on February 8, 2025, at a meeting in a hotel on Wardha Road after he contacted her on the pretext of buying a plot of land.
When she regained consciousness, she found that the accused had allegedly recorded objectionable photos and videos of her being raped while in an unconscious state.
He then blackmailed her and threatened to send the images to her husband and share them on social media.
The woman also alleged that he repeatedly sexually assaulted her and that around 4 lakh rupees were extorted from her.
On May 1, Madare and his associate Ameen Sheikh reportedly forcibly took the woman to Kalmeshwar. There, a third accused in the case, Hazrat Maulana from Tamia village in Chhindwara district, Madhya Pradesh, allegedly performed rituals on her,
She was also forced to say "qubool hai" to convert her.
After the ritual, the maulana declared that she had converted to Islam and that she was married to Ayaaz.
She also alleged that she was forced to eat meat and recite the Kalama.
The group reportedly took them to a hotel where the accused attempted to trape her again.
She narrated the entire ordeal to her husband after he returned home. They registered a complaint at the Sonegaon Police Station.
DCP Suresh Reddy said that a Nagpur team is hunting the maulana who allegedly performed the conversion.
"In her complaint, the woman has alleged rape, extortion, conversion, and black magic. Electronic devices seized are being forensically analysed. This evidence will be very crucial. A police team has gone to another state to search for the maulana who performed the conversion. A thorough investigation is underway," he said.
The two accused have been remanded to five days of police custody by a court
