Aarti Ambi, wife of writer Prashant Ambi, is set to file a complaint against MLA Sanjay Gaikwad with the Kothrud Police, accusing him of sexual harassment, threatening her husband's life, insulting historical figures, and inciting communal tension. She claims Gaikwad made severe threats, including rape, and questioned the lack of an FIR. This action stems from previous threats made by Gaikwad to Prashant Ambi over a book title and Gaikwad's past controversies.

Writer and publisher Prashant Ambi’s wife, Aarti Ambi, has announced that she will file a complaint against MLA Sanjay Gaikwad with the Kothrud Police. According to Marathi media reports, she said that within the next two to three days, she will approach the police and file a complaint against Sanjay Gaikwad on charges of sexual harassment, threatening to kill her husband, insulting revered historical figures, and creating communal tension.

Aarti Ambi has alleged that Sanjay Gaikwad was involved in serious acts, including threatening to rape her, TV9 Kannada said in a report. While threatening to kill her, the Shiv Sena leader allegedly threatened to “send 100 men” to her house and hurled several obscene abuses, the report added.

Aarti Ambi has reportedly questioned why an FIR has not yet been registered despite these allegations against Sanjay Gaikwad.

Earlier in April, Prashant Ambi had alleged that Gaikwad called him at night and threatened him, saying, "You will end like Pansare." The reference was to the way in which Govind Pansare, a senior CPI leader and rationalist thinker, was shot dead in Kolhapur in 2015.

According to Ambi, Gaikwad called him past midnight on April 22 and spoke for about nine minutes, objecting to the book’s title, which does not use honorifics such as “Chhatrapati” and “Maharaj”. In a written complaint to the Rajarampuri police station, Ambi alleged that Gaikwad used “highly obscene and abusive language” and issued threats during the call.

According to Aarti Ambi, she is hoping to get justice from the Kothrud Police Station.

This is not the first time that Gaikwad has courted controversy. Last year, he declared a reward for anyone who slashed Rahul Gandhi's tongue. Gaikwad had also beaten up a waiter in the canteen of the MLA hostel in Mumbai for allegedly serving dal that had gone bad.
