Delhi-NCR weather: IMD warns of thunderstorms and dust squalls this week
The IMD has forecast thunderstorms, dust squalls, and light rainfall across Delhi-NCR and parts of eastern Uttar Pradesh
The Indian Meteorological Department has forecast thunderstorms, dust squalls, and light rainfall across Delhi-NCR and parts of eastern Uttar Pradesh, including Varanasi, Azamgarh, and Prayagraj, from Tuesday and potentially continuing until June 20, with surface winds expected to reach 40-50 kmph and gusts up to 60 kmph. These weather events, attributed to a western disturbance and lower-level winds, are anticipated to offer some respite from the prevailing heat, with maximum temperatures in Delhi hovering around 37-40 degrees Celsius between June 17th and 19th, though the country is projected to experience a weak monsoon overall due to El Niño's influence, despite the monsoon's advance into several eastern and southern states.
