A Tata Consultancy Services employee died by suicide at his residence in the Bhosari area of Pimpri Chinchwad, Maharashtra. Three individuals, including two senior employees at TCS, have now been booked for abetment to suicide.

48-year-old Amit Abhay Brahme left behind a note before he died at his home on June 2, where he alleged harassment at the hands of two senior employees, Archana and Shashwati.

Archana was the victim’s reporting manager, and she was accused of harassing him at the workplace, accusing them of repeatedly humiliating him in front of other colleagues and depriving him of favourable work assignments, and not providing leave when his wife was suffering from cancer.

He also alleged that another person he considered his friend, Vinod Palicha, who is not related to TCS, filed fake complaints against him to tarnish his reputation on the campus. Palicha reportedly sent him legal notices alleging cheating and theft through an advocate.

The FIR said that the dispute between them stemmed from Palicha’s wife moving to the Philippines following domestic issues.

He blamed Brahme for the marital troubles and later filed a false cheating and theft case against him at the Hinjewadi police station. Police are currently reviewing the details of the case.

Sandeep Ghorpade, senior police inspector at Bhosari police station, said that “his family friend Palicha was harassing him and filed an allegedly false complaint of cheating and theft.”

The victim was reportedly working on an important project, which was allegedly taken away from him without any given reason. He was allegedly publicly humiliated and pressured to resign after being threatened with negative feedback.

Police said that notes and statements from his relatives showed that the deceased was isolated and distressed due to his interactions with the accused

Bramhe’s 19-year-old son lodged the FIR at the Bhosari police on June 9.

According to his complaint, Brahme was a resident of Suvidha Park in Bhosari and worked with TCS in Hinjewadi.

The three accused have been booked under the BNS section 108 (abetment of suicide)
