Following an alleged mob attack on TMC general secretary Abhishek Banerjee in Sonarpur, a viral audio clip appears to capture West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee confronting Belle Vue Hospital CEO Pradeep Tandon, accusing the hospital of downplaying her nephew's injuries and warning of repercussions. The recording, shared by BJP spokesman Debjit Sarkar who claimed the Chief Minister was pressuring the hospital to admit Banerjee despite medical reports indicating no significant harm, has sparked controversy over the alleged misuse of medical institutions for political purposes and intimidation tactics, with Banerjee heard shaming the CEO and suggesting future actions if the central government's support for the hospital were to cease.  day after TMC supremo and Mamata Banerjee accused the BJP leaders in the state of threatening the hospital to not provide care to TMC general secretary and her nephew Abhishek Banerjee after he came under mob attack in Sonepura, an audio clip has gone viral wherein the former West Bengal Chief Minister was heard warning Belle Vue hospital CEO that there would be “consequences.”

In the viral recording, Mamata Banerjee is allegedly lashing out at Belle Vue Hospital CEO Pradeep Tandon, accusing him of wrongdoing and threatening him with dire consequences.

Abhishek was admitted to Belle Vue Hospital after the attack in Sonarpur, South 24 Parganas. Mamata alleges that the hospital downplayed Abhishek's injuries.

In the video doing rounds on social media, Mamata was heard shaming the doctor for allegedly not treating Abhishek. “You should be ashamed of yourself. Everybody, please remember — this arrogance. Shame on you. Are you running a hospital? Tomorrow, if the  central government is not there, we will take care of all this. You should be safe and sound,” she said.

Though it is not clear whether Tandon said something that triggered Mamata, the TMC supremo was seen berating the CEO publicly, while being accompanied by a group of individuals inside the premises of Belle Vue hospital.

The video was shared by Debjit Sarkar, the BJP’s spokesman in West Bengal. In a post on his social media handle, Sarkar quoted a medical certificate issued by the same hospital authorities and claimed that the former Chief Minister was forcing Tandon to admit Abhishek Banerjee despite medical reports indicating no significant injuries.

He added that it represented a disturbing attempt to misuse medical institutions for  political narratives and an effort to intimidate doctors, administrators, or healthcare  institutions undermined public trust and violated the basic principles of democracy and governance.

Abhishek, the Diamond Harbour MP, was attacked at Sonarpur town of South 24 Parganas district on Saturday when a mob hurled stones, eggs and abuses at him. He was visiting the victims of post-poll violence when unidentified people scuffled with the leader and roughed him up while raising chants of "thief, thief".
