Cockroach Janata Party founder Abhijeet Dipke says party's Instagram, Twitter accounts were hacked, suspended
The Cockroach Janta Party's original Twitter account was withheld in India due to a legal demand, and its Instagram account was reportedly hacked
Abhijeet Dipke, the founder of the satirical Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), announced that the party's official Instagram and Twitter accounts have been hacked and suspended, with his personal Instagram and backup accounts also compromised, leaving the CJP with no access to its online platforms. While the CJP's original Twitter account, CJP_2029, was withheld in India due to a legal demand, his personal Instagram, despite Dipke's claims of hacking, was reportedly visible and had amassed over 21.8 million viewers by Saturday morning. This situation follows Dipke receiving death threats on WhatsApp and launching a successful online petition demanding the resignation of the Union Education Minister over the NEET paper leak, which garnered over 568,000 signatures. Simultaneously, individuals have filed trademark applications for the "Cockroach Janta Party" name, and a new CJP Twitter account, "@cockroachisback," has emerged following the original's suspension, all unfolding after Dipke, a Boston University student and former AAP digital strategist, founded the satirical party in response to a remark made by the Chief Justice of India.
