The Special Investigation Team, investigating the murder of Chandranath Rath, who was PA to the newly appointed Chief Minister of West Bengal, Suvendu Adhikari, has now uncovered new clues.

The investigation revealed that the car used in the plot to murder Rath on the road was listed for sale on the online shopping platform OLX.

Police sources say that the car was registered under the name James William of Siliguri.

The investigation has shown that the vehicle was put up for sale on the platform some time ago

Four different individuals had placed inquiries to purchase the car, one of them being a man from Uttar Pradesh.

The SIT had made its way to the state on Saturday. To find the man who placed the order.

Despite preliminary investigations showing no direct connection between the man and the murder, the agencies are closely examining all possible scenarios.

The investigation team believed that the online platform listing complicates the case as it becomes more challenging to gather information about the vehicle's multiple transactions and usage.

The SIT is now looking for the vehicle’s previous owners and accounts linked to the OLX listing and potential buyers.

The investigating agencies said that the killing was not just murder but part of an organised conspiracy.

Earlier sources have said that the the Rath’s murder was linked to UP after the license plate og the vehicle which the killers drove has Uttar Pradesh links.

The police had also earlier suspected that an organised gang would be involved.
