11-year-old found dead, stuffed inside a blue drum in Satna, Madhya Pradesh; Suspect pressured boy's mother to marry him

A 11-year-old boy’s body was found stuffed inside a blue drum at his home in Satna, Madhya Pradesh.

The boy, who has been identified as Shivraj Rajak, a class 5 student, was discovered by police on Monday afternoon. Authorities found that his throat had been slit, TOI reported.

the murder reportedly took place when the boy’s mother, Asha Rajak, was away working as domestic help. His father, Ramesh Rajak, was away working at Nashik.

When she returned at around 12:30 pm on Monday, she found that the front door was locked from the outside and the boy missing. He also found his shoes lying near the locked door after which she alerted the authorities along with her family.

The Kolgawan police broke the lock of the rented room in front of the family after they reached the spot. They found bloodstains on the wall, on a pillow and on a sickle which is suspected to be the murder weapon. They also found a blue drum in the room with blood stains.

A forensic team was deployed to collect the evidence including the suspected weapon.

Preliminary investigations has led the suspicions to fall on a 45-year old laundry man, Mathura Rajak, who operates his business nearby. The accused had allegedly been pressuring the boy’s mother to marry him and had threatened her earlier.

A police team had been formed to track down the suspect and searches are underway. His shop was closed and his mobile remans switched off.
