India has rejected Pakistan claims that that Indian government was behind the attack in Balochistan which killed 15 Pakistani soldiers on Sunday.
External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal trashed the charges, saying "We categorically reject the baseless allegations made by Pakistan, which are nothing but its usual tactics to deflect attention from its own internal failings."
The statement by the MEA said that Islamabad should focus on addressing its long-standing demands of the people in the region. Instead of parroting frivolous claims each time there is a violent incident, it would do better to focus on addressing long-standing demands of its people in the region. Its record of suppression, brutality, and violation of human rights is well known, “ the statement read.
The response comes after Pakistan's interior minister claimed that India was behind the terrorist attacks in Balochistan on Saturday.
At least 15 Pakistan soldiers and 92 militants were reportedly killed in multiple counter terrorism operations carried out by Pakistani security forces in Balochistan province. The Pakistan army said the militants attempted to disturb peace by carrying out terrorist activities in and around Quetta, Mastung, Nushki, Dalbandin, Kharan and Panjgur, it said.
Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti on sunday however confirk that at least 145 militants belonging to Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) were killed in 40 hours in the province in coordinated atatcks launced in 12 towns.
He also said that 17 security personnel and 31 civilians were killed in the encounter.
Bugti on Sunday reiterated claims that the hostile group was backed by India to destabilise Pakistan.
