Founder and chairman of real estate firm Confident Group, C.J. Roy, who was found dead at his office in Bengaluru on Friday evening, was under stress.

According to media reports, employees in his firm claimed that he was under stress owing to the raids by the central agencies at his offices. The raids have been happening at the offices of Confident Group for the past few days.

The police are questioning the employees at his firm, say media reports.

Roy suffered bullet injuries from his licensed firearm at his office near Richmond Circle in Bengaluru, leading to suspicion that he may have shot himself.

According to news agency PTI, soon after a gunshot was heard, staff members rushed to the chairman’s room and found him lying in a pool of blood.

Police suspect it to be a case of suicide, though they said a conclusion would be drawn after the post-mortem examination.

Roy, who was also a movie producer, was known for his philanthropic efforts as well.
