Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar died in a plane crash at Baramati on Wednesday morning. As per initial reports, five others, including his two personal assistants and two pilots, died in the accident.
The incident occurred after the aircraft he was traveling on landed belly up before catching fire.

Pawar was in Baramati, his home ground, to address multiple election rallies for the upcoming Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti elections.
Footage doing the rounds on social media showed the light aircraft on fire in a deserted field. The wreckage was scattered across the area, with flames and thick smoke billowing after the crash.
According to reports, the ATC received information about the crash of the chartered flight at about 9:12 am. The plane took off from Mumbai around 8:10 am.
His body has been taken to Baramati hospital, where a huge crowd has thronged.
