The Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee has received a fresh, anonymous complaint against suspended Congress leader and MLA Rahul Mamkootathil. The new complainant identifies herself as a 23-year-old woman from Bengaluru. In an email sent to the KPCC, which she forwarded to the police too, she alleges that Rahul assaulted and emotionally abused her under the false promise of marriage.
The MLA is currently absconding in a case filed by a Thiruvananthapuram woman who has accused him of rape and forced abortion, and also alleged that he recorded nude visuals after the assault and used them to threaten her. His anticipatory bail plea is set to be heard tomorrow.
The new complainant says she has known Rahul for several years and that he re-established contact with her through Instagram in September 2023. According to the complaint, Rahul told her his Instagram account was monitored by party administrators and that he needed privacy. After a few days of conversation, she shared her number.
When their chats moved to Telegram, the young leader allegedly began sending affectionate messages. He soon proposed marriage, and under persistent persuasion, she shared the proposal with her family. The complainant says her family initially opposed the proposal because he had an unstable career but agreed after he became Youth Congress state president.
Under this pretext, Rahul allegedly coerced her into sexual acts in December 2023 at a homestay.

When asked to reaffirm his commitment to marriage, Rahul said he had no intention of marrying anyone. “I was shattered. His entire proposal has been a deliberate deception,” the complaint said.
She said that he showed no emotion, humanity or remorse even after “brutally violating” her despite her resistance.
“Seeing how another survivor’s privacy was violated and her future deliberately damaged has intensified my fear. This is one of the reasons I am unable to come forward publicly at this time,” the complaint reads.
She says she felt morally compelled to speak up after hearing the KPCC president publicly state that no complaints had been received against Rahul. “I am not seeking publicity, sympathy, or personal benefit. My only intention is to protect other vulnerable women,” she wrote, adding that Rahul is a sexual predator who systematically misuses political power to groom, deceive, and exploit young women. His conduct, she says, is a grave breach of public trust and incompatible with the responsibilities of an elected representative.
The complainant also claims that the Crime Branch investigating Rahul’s case already has her details and that she will forward this complaint to Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi.
