Where is Rahul Gandhi? As Congress faces wipeout in Bihar, netizens ask if he is on a foreign trip

As the Congress was leading in only two of the 61 seats it contested in Bihar, Rahul Gandhi, who was part of the election campaign in the state in the initial phase, has remained silent on the election results.

The last tweet from the Congress leader was on former prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru's 136th birth anniversary on Friday morning. "His ideals and values continue to be a source of inspiration for us even today. Respectful salutations to 'Hind ke Jawahar' on his birth anniversary," Gandhi said in his post. 

However, there has been no tweet from the Congress leader on the election results or the less-than-encouraging performance of his party, prompting questions about his whereabouts.

Rumours suggest Gandhi may have traveled abroad. However, no credible reports confirm he has left the country.

Some X users speculated he might be in the US or the Middle East.

"By noon, there will be a celebration in the BJP office and a lock on the office of the opposition. By the time Rahul Gandhi wakes up in the West, the NDA victory would have been declared and by the time he sees sunrise in the West, the Sun would have set on the opposition in Bihar," BJP national spokesperson Jaiveer Shergill said, taking a dig at the Congress leader.

"And where is rahul gandhi right now? Foreign trip again?," asked a user.

"Rahul Gandhi knew the result long before counting even began  that’s why he quietly slipped out on a secret foreign trip," claimed another.

A user wrote: "Rahul Gandhi is not in India

And the funniest part? He’s on one of his ‘secret trips’ again."
