Lauding people of Bihar for voting the National Democratic Alliance back to power in the state with a record number of seats, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, targeting the Opposition Mahagathbandhan, said, "Katta sarkar" will return to power in the state.
Addressing party cadres at Bharatiya Janata Party's headquarters in Delhi, Modi said that while the Tejashwi Yadav-led RJD remained silent when he launched "jungle raj" charge, it made the Congress uneasy. "When I used to speak about Jungle Raj and 'Katta Sarkar' during the Bihar elections, the RJD party raised no objections. But, it hurt the people of Congress. Today, I want to reiterate that Katta Sarkar will never return to Bihar; the people of Bihar have voted for Viksit Bihar," Modi said.
During the event, BJP national president and Union Minister J.P. Nadda called the Bihar election results a "tsunami". Nadda said the Bihar election was a fight between 'jungle raj' and development. "This tsunami has made it clear that whether it is the people of Bihar or the people of the country, everyone has unwavering faith in the prime minister, and they have put a seal of approval on the politics of development to take the state forward."
Earlier, in a post on X, Bihar Chief Minister and Janata Dal (United) leader Nitish Kumar thanked the public for the resounding victory. "People of the state have expressed their confidence in our government by giving us a landslide mandate in the polls. For this, I bow to all the esteemed voters of the state, and express my heartfelt gratitude and thanks," Kumar said.
However, the unprecedented victory of the ruling NDA has given BJP leaders fresh firepower to target Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and the Opposition alliance. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said Bihar's voters decided to vote for Modi after Rahul Gandhi launched 'Vote chori' yatra. "Rahul Gandhi is a lucky mascot for the BJP. When he started his 'vote-chori' campaign in Bihar, then only the people of Bihar decided that they would only vote for Narendra Modi and no one else. This is a clear victory of Narendra Modi and Nitish Kumar's pro-people policy," he said.
Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) party leader and Union Minister Chirag Paswan said NDA's victory has put an end to the false campaigns of Opposition. "Rahul Gandhi frequently made personal comments about my prime minister. The Congress never understood that every time they used indecent language, they were moving towards self-harm," he said.
However, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey linked the BJP's win to Operation Sindoor. "This was the first election after the Operation Sindoor and SIR. The way Prime Minister Modi gave a befitting reply to Pakistan and the way we have worked for villages, the poor, women, and farmers—this is the stamp of approval on that."
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis took a cryptic jibe at Gandhi and said, "Only a fool doesn't learn from his mistakes. You cannot make a fake narrative basis for your politics; their narrative has been busted."
