The Jammu and Kashmir Police, on Wednesday, arrested a person from South Kashmir, who allegedly offered logistical support to terrorists responsible for the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, which left 26 people dead.

"Based on an intelligence lead, Srinagar police arrested an Over Ground Worker (OGW) from South Kashmir's Kulgam district. He was identified as Mohammad Yousuf Kataria," an official said.

According to the officials, the accused, a resident of Kulgam, had a role in providing logistical support to the terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack who were later killed during Operation Mahadev.

The arrested accused is allegedly a member of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and its offshoot The Resistance Front (TRF). Media reports suggest that he was arrested following the analysis of the weapons seized during ‘Operation Mahadev’.

Kataria worked in a contractual job. He also taught local children. He reportedly came into contact with the terrorists a few months before the incident and started helping with their movements.

The Army's elite para commandos had gunned down the three terrorists responsible for the Pahalgham attack. They included Sulieman alias Asif, who is believed to be the mastermind of the April 22 attack. The other two were identified as Jibran and Hamza Afghani.
