A day after she was suspended from the BRS by her father, K Kavitha has announced that she is resigning from her the post as the party MLC and from the party’s primary membership.

At the press meet, she addressed her father, K Chandrasekhar Rao, saying, “Dad, something is happening around you. I also talk to you directly as you do. The father who gave birth to me and held my little finger and taught me how to move. Two people are working hard against me and spreading poison."

“What is Bangaru (golden) Telangana? If there is gold in the house of Harish Rao and Santosh Rao, that does not make Bangaru Telangana,” said Kavitha. “If there is a conspiracy against him, shouldn't KTR respond as the working president? Internal democracy should be created in the BRS.”

Kavita questioned why she was being painted as being against the party when she was fighting for a better Telangana.

She also made further accusations against her cousins and her brother Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao known as KTR.

“I have said that there is a conspiracy against me. Even after 103 days, the working president, KTR, has not responded. Kinship aside, have you asked if a woman MLC is suffering, brother?

She made the resignation announcement to the media saying in her first appearance since being suspended saying, “I am resigning from the MLC position and the party’s primary membership. I am sending my resignation to the Speaker and to K Chandrasekhar Rao."

She then adressed her brother saying, “Ram, Harish and Santosh may appear to be with you but they are not people who will think about you and Telangana. The party will survive only if they are left,” Kavitha said, “Even if I lose my life, I do not want to harm KCR and KTR.”

The BRS on Tuesday had announced that it was suspending Kavitha over her alleged anti-party activities. Kavitha's father and BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao decided to suspened her with immediate effect along with  party General Secretary T Ravinder Rao and another General Secretary (in charge of disciplinary affairs) Soma Bharat Kumar.

The party said that the leadership had taken a serious note of Kavitha’s behaviour in recent times.
