The intensity of the rain has increased in the Mumbai suburbs. Many roads in the Andheri area are flooded, including Nagardas Road in Andheri East, Jayaprakash Road in Andheri West, and Veera Desai Road. Due to the fast-flowing water, the police have prohibited citizens from walking on the roads.
The Andheri subway was closed to traffic for five and a half hours after it filled with up to five feet of water, Marathi media reports said. Meanwhile, Chembur's Maa Hospital witnessed water reaching four to five feet high, causing major difficulties for patients, Esakal said in a report.
