The Uttar Pradesh government has launched a decisive fight against illegal conversions, with the state’s chief minister asserting that no conspiracies against sanatan dharma will be tolerated.
Recent arrests in Balrampur, Agra and Prayagraj have made it clear that such conversions are not isolated but part of a larger, deep-seated, global conspiracy, as per a note issued by the government on late Wednesday evening.
This has been dubbed ‘soft terror’ by the Uttar Pradesh government, and it claims that it is in the final stages of the war against such terror.
In the recent arrests made from six states over the disappearance of two girls from Agra, the police have discovered documents that indicate a possible international link. This includes a detailed map of Palestine and fundamentalist literature. The authorities have now divulged that material related to Christianity has also been recovered from the arrested. This, the authorities said, is proof that the entire operation is ‘anti-Hindu’.
Individuals were trained on how to lure Hindu girls through promises of love, marriage, and even economic prosperity. The authorities say that some of these girls were to be sent to Dubai. Some of them were to be passed off as adoptees and were sent to Christian missionaries. As of now, two dozen such cases have been identified.
Yogi Adityanath has said that he will not permit UP to become a centre of illegal conversions. The action taken by the state should serve as an inspiration to the rest of the country, he said.

Meanwhile, 18 teams that include digital and cybersecurity experts have been formed to draw out the complete details of the racket. Digital maps of the entire operation will be drawn from CCTV footage, call recordings, social media profiles, and forensic analysis of digital devices. Instagram, Snapchat and Facebook are the social media platforms most commonly used to trap girls.
The girls who were targeted in the operation have told the police that they were allegedly threatened that if they do not convert to Islam, their families would be harmed.
