Noida attack viral videos: Why men were attacked by gang in Sector 53 before being hit by SUV?

A social media spar took an ugly turn in Noida when two groups clashed on the streets of Sector 53. Videos of the violent altercation have gone viral on the internet, showing a couple of young men being greatly outnumbered by a rival group and badly beaten up. Later, a speeding vehicle rammed into one of the men from behind, forcing him to crash into a roadside drain.

The viral videos showed the larger group beating the victims mercilessly, leaving them bleeding. Bricks and sticks were used to assault them in broad daylight before an SUV was used to hit one of them. However, he was also carrying a brick in his hand while being hit by the vehicle from behind.

According to Delhi-based media reports, both sides involved in the violent incident knew each other and faced off over an online spar. On Instagram, one of the men involved made a comment that offended the other group. The verbal altercation snowballed into a physical confrontation in the streets.

The Noida Police have registered a case under relevant sections for rash driving, causing hurt, and criminal intimidation, NDTV said in a report. However, there was no information on the whereabouts of the victims or the accused. The police are in the process of identifying parties on either side, and special teams have been formed to arrest the accused at the earliest, the reports added. The incident caused a social media outrage with many people voicing concers over increasing instances of road rages and street fights in Noida and other parts of NCR.
