Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked shelling along the Line of Control in Kupwara and Baramulla districts of Jammu and Kashmir late on Thursday evening with the Indian armed forces retaliating effectively. At the same time, security forces detected Pakistani drones near the Jammu airport and a blackout was imposed.
Many videos appeared on social media, particularly X, in which projectiles were seen flying over Jammu. The city plunged into darkness with electricity snapped soon after two powerful explosions were heard in the vicinity of the airport.

Officials said counter-measures have been initiated and a few Pakistani drones were downed by the Indian anti-drone system.

2. The reports of suicide attacks by terrorists at Pathankot and Rajouri are baseless. The PIB's fact check wing also dismissed social media claims that alleged that the Indian military used Ambala Airbase to attack Amritsar. "This claim is completely baseless and part of a concerted misinformation campaign," PIB said.

3. Hostile drones were spotted at multiple places along the western front of the country, the Indian Army confirmed. Like in Kashmir, they were effectively engaged by air-defence systems, it added.
4. The Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff said that India's military stations in Jammu, Pathankot and Udhampur in proximity to the International Boundary was targeted by Pakistan using missiles and drones. However, they were thwarted effectively.
