Union Minister Jitendra Singh suspects terrorists were involved in the recent death of three men from Kathua. Singh said concerned officials have been alerted and stringent action will be taken to instil confidence among the public.
In a post on X, the Union minister expressed concern over the deaths, whose bodies were recovered on Saturday. Singh tweeted, “The brutal killing of 3 youths by terrorists in Bani area of district #Kathua is extremely sad as well as a matter of great concern. There appears to be a deep conspiracy behind spoiling the atmosphere in this peaceful area.”

Adding the matter has been discussed with concerned officials, Singh said, “The Union Home Secretary himself is reaching Jammu so that the situation can be assessed on the spot. I am confident that it will be ensured that such incidents do not happen again and the confidence of the people remains strong. “

Security forces recovered the bodies of Varun Singh (15), his uncles Yogesh Singh (32) and Darshan Singh (40) from Ishu nullah in the remote Malhar area of Jammu. The victims went missing on March 5. Security forces launched a massive search for the trio and their bodies were found near the waterfall on Saturday. As per preliminary probe, investigators have ruled out any terror angle behind their deaths and its cause is yet to be ascertained.
J&K Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary condoled the killings and added it was a matter of concern. Meanwhile, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan has reached Jammu and Kashmir and is reviewing the security situation in the Valley.
