Amid Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s “conspiracy” claim, two more planes carrying illegal Indian immigrants from the US are likely to land at the Amritsar airport on February 15 and 16.
As per the communication received by the Bureau of Civil Aviation from the Ministry of External Affairs, the first flight carrying 119 Indian deportees will land on February 15 at Amritsar at 10.05pm, and will have 67 passengers from Punjab, 33 from Haryana and 19 from Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra.
The second flight will land at night on February 16.
The move comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi told US President Donald Trump that India was "fully prepared" to take back "verified" citizens living in America illegally, during his two-day visit to the US.
On February 5, a US military aircraft carrying 104 illegal Indian deportees landed at the Amritsar airport.
