A 20-year-old woman was found stabbed to death on an isolated road in Uran. The Navi Mumbai police have formed special teams to nab the suspect.

According to police, the deceased was identified as Yashashri Shinde (20) from Uran. Yashashri reportedly went missing on Thursday evening. Her father lodged a missing complaint with police on Thursday and police have formed teams to nab a suspect hailing from Karnataka.

According to police, Shinde’s body was found on an isolated road near a petrol pump in Kotnaka and a passerby alerted them on Friday. A passerby alerted the control room that a girl’s body was lying in a pool of blood on the road and stray dogs were nibbling over her body.

Uran police said the girl’s face was dismembered due to nibbling by dogs and the girl had stab injuries on her waist and back. The girl’s family suspected a person hailing from Karnataka, Dawood Shaikh, was behind Shinde’s murder.

Police said the victim had lodged a POCSO and molestation case against Shaikh in 2019 and he was sent to jail. According to the police, Shaikh's mobile phone is switched off and police teams have been formed to nab him.
