Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Ayodhya on Sunday, the first visit after the consecration ceremony in January. Besides offering prayers at the temple, the Prime Minister will also hold a mega roadshow.

The Prime Minister arrived in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday evening and took out an elaborate roadshow in Kanpur. He was flanked by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who is also expected to accompany Modi to Etawah, a known stronghold of the Samajwadi Party (SP).

He will kickstart his campaign at Etawah with a public meeting around 2.45 pm. He will then move to Dhaurahra to address another election rally around 4.45 pm before heading to Ayodhya.

After offering prayers at the Ram temple, Modi will embark on the roadshow from Sugriva Fort to Lata Chowk. The route of the roadshow has been divided into 40 blocks and will have farmers and women clad in their traditional costumes attending the show. The seers and mahants of Ayodhya will accompany him during the roadshow.

"Grand preparations are underway ahead of the Prime Minister's visit to Ayodhya for a darshan of Ram Lalla and a roadshow. Ram Lalla Darshan Marg Gate no 11 has been decorated with flowers. Giant hoardings of the PM have gone up along the road. The roadshow is to be held on a 2 km stretch from Birla Mandir to Lata Mangeshkar Chowk," Acharya Satyendra Das, chief priest of the Ram Temple told ANI.

The security has also been beefed up as the temple town as part of the preparations.

After the Ayodhya visit, the PM will return to Odisha for the election campaign. He is expected to land at the Bhubaneswar airport at 9.30 pm on Sunday, and then he will head to the Raj Bhavan where he will spend the night. The PM is scheduled to address election rallies in Berhampur and Nabarangpur on Monday.

Bihar visit

On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed an election rally in the north Bihar town of Darbhanga, where he was seen enjoying fun moments with his supporters.

The Prime Minister was presented with a garland made of fox nuts (makhana), which grow in abundance in the area when he arrived at Darbhanga, the capital of the erstwhile princely state of Mithila. He was also seen wearing the "Mithila paag", a traditional headgear on which the lotus, the BJP's poll symbol, was boldly printed.

He also addressed the crowd in Maithili, sending the crowd into rapture. The Prime Minister also left the crowd in splits when he addressed a supporter who was seen carrying a mannequin modelled after himself.

"Aapne Modi ko bahut nacha liya (You have made Modi dance a lot)," the prime minister told the man, who was waving it furiously to grab attention.

He went on to hand over the figure to the SPG.

Modi also noticed a fan of the "Vishwakarma yojana" frantically waving a poster of the craftsman deity. "My dear 'bhakt' (devotee) of Lord Vishwakarma, you have caught my attention with your enthusiasm. Now please take your seat. You may be blocking the view for those sitting behind," said Modi.
