Prime Minister Narendra Modi sharpened his attack against Congress and Rahul Gandhi on Saturday and said the Congress “sahabzade” will lose in Wayanad and will have to find a “safer” seat after April 26.

Campaigning for Lok Sabha polls in Nanded, Maharashtra, Modi said, “Yesterday (Friday), the first phase of polling concluded. I congratulate and express my gratitude to all those who cast their vote, especially the first-time voters. After the polling concluded, the analysis that was done on the booth level and the information that was received confirms that in the first phase, there has been one-sided voting for NDA."

Sharpening his attack against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Modi said the Congress leader would have to find another safer seat after April 26 as he would lose in Wayanad as well. “After losing Amethi, the Congress' sahabzade will lose Wayanad as well. So he will have to look for a safe seat after April 26,” he said.

Seeking a third term, Modi said the past 10 years were spent fixing bad governance of previous Congress governments and a “lot of work still needs to be done”. Referring to Congress leader Sonia Gandhi’s election to Rajya Sabha, Modi said some INDIA bloc leaders do not have the courage to contest elections.

"They (INDIA bloc) may claim anything, but the reality is that Congress leaders have accepted defeat even before the announcement of polls,” Modi said. Calling the Opposition bloc a grouping of selfish people, Modi said INDIA bloc constituents are contesting the elections against each other in 25 per cent of seats.
